Cheese-Stuffed Potato Balls
Golden and delicious balls made from raw potato. These cheese-stuffed potato balls are a fun, hearty little snack that comes together quickly. There's no need to boil the potatoes — they go in raw. Just be sure to squeeze out the juice well so the balls hold together. A firm hard cheese works best for the filling. Serve these crisp, golden potato balls with sour cream or ketchup.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather all your ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Beat the egg with the milk and salt.
-
Step 3:
Add 2 tablespoons of the flour and whisk well. Set the rest of the flour aside for breading.
-
Step 4:
Grate the potatoes on the fine side of a grater and squeeze out the juice.
-
Step 5:
Add the spices, salt, and 1 tablespoon of the prepared batter to the potatoes.
-
Step 6:
Cut the cheese into cubes — these go inside as the filling.
-
Step 7:
Place a cube of cheese in a spoonful of the potato mixture and roll it into a ball. Roll each ball in flour.
-
Step 8:
Dip each ball into the batter — a fork makes it easy to lift them out.
-
Step 9:
Roll them in breadcrumbs.
-
Step 10:
Fry the balls in hot oil until golden brown.
-
Step 11:
Arrange the potato balls on a plate and serve. They aren't greasy, so there's no need to drain them on paper towels. Enjoy!
