Homemade Walnut Patties

Patties don't have to be made from meat! Nut patties? Absolutely—and they're delicious! These walnut patties are easy to make at home. Serve them with your favorite sauce, alongside a side dish, or all on their own.

    1. Peel the onion and garlic. Cut the onion into quarters; you can leave the garlic cloves whole.
    1. Peel and wash the potatoes, then cut them into small pieces.
    1. Run the walnuts, potatoes, onion, and garlic through a meat grinder—grind them separately into separate bowls, not all together.
    1. Squeeze the liquid out of the onion and potatoes; the mixture shouldn't be too wet.
    1. Combine the potato, onion-garlic, and walnut mixtures in one bowl and stir together.
    1. Now add the flour, salt, and ground black pepper, and mix thoroughly.
    1. With damp hands, shape the patties and fry them in hot vegetable oil on both sides until nicely golden.
  • Serve hot.
