Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to bake a whole chicken with crispy potatoes? Prepare all ingredients. Let's start with the sauce in which the chicken will be marinated.
Step 2:
Combine mayonnaise, paprika, curry, salt and pepper in a bowl.
Step 3:
Mix thoroughly until smooth. The sauce is ready.
Step 4:
Next, take the chicken, wash it thoroughly, dry it with paper towels. I recommend taking chilled poultry, but if you have frozen food, then slowly defrost it by transferring it from the freezer to the refrigerator. So the meat will practically not suffer and will retain its juiciness.
Step 5:
Coat the chicken with the resulting mayonnaise mixture, leaving a little sauce to mix with the potatoes. Leave the chicken to marinate for 30 minutes (it can be longer if time allows, but the meat will be soaked enough in half an hour).
Step 6:
Wash the potatoes with a brush, peel and cut into large slices. Peel the onion and cut it into rings or as you like. To avoid irritation of the mucous membrane of the eyes, rinse the onion and knife with cold water before slicing.
Step 7:
Put the potatoes in a bowl with the remaining sauce and mix.
Step 8:
Put the onion on the bottom of the baking dish.
Step 9:
Spread the potato slices on top.
Step 10:
Put the chicken carcass on the potatoes. Cover the mold with foil and send it to a preheated 180 ° C oven for 50 minutes (10-15 minutes). Then remove the foil and bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Adjust the temperature and time according to the specifics of your technique.
In this recipe, it is noteworthy that not only chicken, but also potatoes are smeared with sauce. This gives both the chicken and the side dish an unusual flavor note and guarantees a beautiful golden crust. A holiday or a family dinner - in any situation, such a dish will be appropriate. And it's not difficult to cook it at all!
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
Pierce the meat with a knife: if the knife enters easily and the light juice flows, then it is ready, if the juice is pink or red, you need to continue cooking.
It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting

Also, as a sauce, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste.
