Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the products for cooking meatballs with potatoes. Minced meat can be any, I have mixed, beef and pork.
Step 2:
Break the stale bun and fill it with water. Leave it on for 10 minutes.
Step 3:
Wash the potatoes well, peel and cut in any way. I chose slicing into circles, you can cut into ordinary slices. Do not make them too thick, it may not get baked.
Step 4:
Boil water in a saucepan. Put the sliced potatoes in a saucepan, add salt and boil for 10 minutes. This way the potatoes will bake faster in the oven. After 10 minutes, discard the potatoes in a colander.
Step 5:
Chop the onion in any way - I grated it on a fine grater, you can just cut it or use kitchen appliances.
Step 6:
Add grated onion, salt and pepper to the minced meat. Remove the crusts from the bread, squeeze the pulp slightly and put it in the stuffing.
Step 7:
Knead the meat well until the products are completely mixed.
Step 8:
Take a baking dish or frying pan. With your hands, form round meatballs, spread them evenly in shape. Leave the distance between the cutlets for potatoes.
Step 9:
Prepare the filling - mix sour cream with tomato sauce, add half a cup of water.
Step 10:
Arrange the potato slices nicely in the spaces between the meatballs.
Step 11:
Pour the sauce over the meatballs with potatoes.
Step 12:
Bake meatballs with potatoes in the oven at 180 ° C for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
I love dishes of this type - I put everything in one dish, and dinner is ready. I often cook meatballs like this. But I don't always boil potatoes before baking. Pre-boiling speeds up the process - instead of an hour in the oven, the dish spends about 40 minutes. I will always do so.
You can not put bread in meatballs, but put rice, then you will get hedgehogs with a side dish. You can add chopped garlic to the sauce, if you like it. In general, any favorite seasonings and spices will do.
You can sprinkle grated cheese on top of the dish, and herbs before serving.
