Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to bake potatoes in sour cream in the oven? Prepare the products. Choose potatoes of crumbly varieties. Pre-wash and clean it. Take natural sour cream, fresh, of good quality and high fat content. Any cheese for this dish is suitable — hard, semi-hard, soft, like mozzarella. The main thing is that it is tasty, high-quality, without milk fat substitutes and melts well.
Step 2:
Combine sour cream with water. Stir until smooth, add a little salt and spices to taste. I used a small amount of ground black pepper, smoked paprika, 100% asafoetida, as well as a little dried dill. You can put any seasonings that you like or that are available.
Step 3:
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Add half of the grated cheese to the sour cream, mix. Set aside the sour cream sauce for a while.
Step 4:
Cut the potatoes into thin slices. You can use a knife, or you can use a special grater. Put the sliced potatoes in a large bowl.
Step 5:
Add sour cream sauce to the bowl with potatoes. Mix the potatoes with the sauce so that each slice is smeared with sour cream mixture. It was very convenient for me to carry out this process with my hands. Put the prepared potatoes in a fireproof mold. I did not lubricate the form beforehand, counting on the fat content of the sour cream sauce.
Step 6:
Cover the mold with a sheet of foil (or a lid, if the mold has a lid) and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 45-50 minutes. After the time has elapsed, carefully open the mold and pierce the potatoes with the tip of a sharp knife. If the slices are soft, then the potatoes are ready!
Step 7:
Sprinkle the potatoes with the remaining cheese and put them in the oven for another 5-10 minutes under the grill without a lid or foil, so that the cheese melts on top and the potatoes are appetitively browned.
Step 8:
Potatoes baked in sour cream in the oven are ready! Serve it hot, sprinkled with chopped fresh herbs to your taste. Bon appetit!
Root vegetables are best washed with a brush or a hard sponge under running water.
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
Any heat-resistant form is suitable for this recipe. If you use a silicone mold, then you do not need to smear it with butter or margarine. But it is better to lightly lubricate metal, ceramic or glass dishes with vegetable oil so that the baking does not burn.
