Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
In order to cook potatoes in the oven with cheese and sour cream, prepare good potato tubers. Approximately the same shape and size, without damage and dark places. You will also need fresh, natural, excellent quality sour cream. Fat content does not matter much, except that you will not use homemade fatty sour cream, it is almost like butter, it will need to be diluted. Take also hard cheese, butter to lubricate the mold, salt and herbs.
Step 2:
Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into plates. You can do this with the help of special devices, you can use a sharp knife. The slices should be approximately the same thickness, without sudden changes. Grease a baking dish or baking sheet thickly with butter, lay out half of the potatoes in a uniform layer.
Step 3:
Spread half of the sour cream as evenly as possible on top (it is convenient to level the sour cream with a conventional fork). Add salt to taste, sprinkle with ground black pepper. Grate the hard cheese on a grater and put a third of the crushed cheese evenly on sour cream.
Step 4:
Put the remaining half of the potatoes on top of the cheese, put the remaining sour cream on the potatoes as evenly as you can. Again, salt and pepper and make a "cap" from 2/3 of grated cheese on top.
Step 5:
Put the prepared form with potatoes in the oven preheated to 190-200 degrees for 30-40 minutes. The potatoes should be soft, the cheese should melt and be appetitively browned.
Step 6:
We take the finished dish out of the oven, sprinkle with clean chopped herbs and serve it to the table in a hot, as they say with fervor-with heat, form.
This dish does not provide for the use of "strong" aromatic spices, however, if you want to experiment, then try adding some Italian herbs or Provencal along with ground black pepper.
