Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make classic shortbread cookies? Prepare all the necessary ingredients for this. Butter should be soft, so take it out of the refrigerator in advance and let it lie at room temperature for a couple of hours. Separate the yolks from the whites. I use category C1 eggs. Sift the flour through a sieve to saturate it with oxygen. This is necessary for the finished products to be the most delicate and lush.
Step 2:
To make shortbread dough, take a convenient bowl and combine soft butter and sugar in it. Whisk for 1-2 minutes to make the butter a little fuller and lighter. Replacing butter with margarine is not worth it. Margarine products are more rigid.
Step 3:
Add egg yolks to the butter. Mix them into the dough. To do this, too, you can use a mixer. If you add whole eggs to the dough instead of yolks, then the cookies will not be as crumbly as only on the yolks.
Step 4:
Then add baking powder, a pinch of salt and vanilla. Start gradually adding flour and knead the dough. It is not necessary to add all the flour at once. It may need a little more or less. Focus on the consistency of the dough.
Step 5:
The finished dough will be soft and not sticky to the hands at all. Wrap the dough with cling film and let it lie down for 30 minutes, rest.
Step 6:
From the finished dough, roll out a layer 5-7 mm thick and cut out cookies of any shape from it. Put the cookies on a baking sheet covered with cooking paper and put them in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 15 minutes. Be guided by your oven. Cookies are prepared very quickly.
Step 7:
Do not overdo it in the oven, otherwise it will burn. Remove the finished sugar cookies, golden brown, from the oven and cool.
Step 8:
You can sprinkle the cookies with powdered sugar.
Step 9:
It turns out very tasty and crumbly sugar cookies. Have a nice treat!
