Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it is at room temperature and easier to rub. Butter can be replaced with margarine, then cookies will be more budget-friendly, but it is better to use butter in baking for children, margarine is harmful. Rub the butter with sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Step 2:
Drive in one chicken egg. We mix, for the speed and ease of the process, you can use a mixer.
Step 3:
Sift flour and mix with a pinch of soda. Pour the flour into the mixture in parts (it may need a little more or a little less, depending on the properties of the flour itself) and knead the steep dough. Important! Do not knead the dough for a long time, otherwise the cookies will be hard.
Step 4:
Wrap the dough in a film and put it in the refrigerator for an hour. So it will be easier to work with the dough and the finished cookies will turn out more tender.
Step 5:
After rolling it out into a layer about a centimeter thick and cutting out cookies with molds. Note that the thinner the dough, the harder the cookies will turn out. For me, it is optimal to be about 1 centimeter thick - so the cookies turn out soft inside and crispy outside.
Step 6:
Spread it on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 25 minutes. We focus on the work of our oven (it also depends on the baking time whether the cookies will be soft or hard, do not overdo it!).
Step 7:
Take out the cookies when it turns brown. We serve cookies with tea or coffee. Children are happy to eat it hot with cold milk. Have a nice tea party!
All the secrets of baking shortbread dough, why it turns out dry, hard or tasteless and how to avoid it, read the article about crumbly and tender shortbread dough .
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
So that the oven has time to heat up to the desired temperature, turn it on in advance (10-20 minutes before the start of cooking).
