Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Preparing the filling for the pie. Chicken fillet is washed under running water, dried with a paper towel. Then cut into small pieces. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin circles. The onion is also cut into circles.
Step 2:
I took frozen puff pastry for the pie. Of course, you can make it yourself. But to save time, you can also use the purchased option. I defrosted the dough for 1 hour at room temperature. I had two plates of dough in the package. I use one of them for the bottom of the pie, and the second for the top.
Step 3:
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin. The size of the rolled dough for the bottom of the pie should be larger than the shape in which you will bake.
Step 4:
Spread the potatoes on the dough, add a little salt.
Step 5:
The second layer will be meat, and the third onion. Salt, pepper.
Step 6:
Close the filling with the second layer of dough. We pinch the edges. In the center of the pie we make a hole. It can be done with a glass, or you can just use your fingers.
Step 7:
Lubricate the top of the pie with vegetable oil. You can grease it with a lightly beaten egg. We close the hole with an onion. We send the pie to a preheated 200 degree oven for 25 minutes.
Step 8:
After 25 minutes, we take out the pie. Remove the onion and carefully pour the broth into the hole. We return the onion to its place. We poison the pie to cook further for 25-30 minutes. After this time, the pie should theoretically be ready. But I recommend that you carefully check the degree of readiness of potatoes. If necessary, you can add a little more broth and put it in the oven for a while.
As a filling for a pie, you can take not fillet, but minced meat. It can even be pre-fried with onions in a frying pan. Minced meat can be chicken with beef, and beef with pork, other combinations are possible.
This pie can also be made vegetarian. Put potatoes and cabbage, potatoes and pumpkin inside the pie. You can cook it with mushrooms.
Instead of meat broth, you can pour vegetable broth or plain water into the pie.
Experienced housewives deftly manage to pour the broth inside the pie. I decided to use the funnel. She helped me a lot.
