Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to bake delicious cookies with walnuts? Very simple! First, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Start by preparing the filling. In addition to walnuts, you can use any other to taste. Butter should be at room temperature, so take it out of the refrigerator in advance.
Step 2:
Chop the nuts finely with a knife. You can speed up the process by lightly beating the nuts in a blender, or put the nuts in a bag and chop them with a rolling pin.
Step 3:
Add sugar to the nuts and mix. Add the soft butter.
Step 4:
And mix the mass well again so that the butter spreads over all the nuts.
Step 5:
Now prepare the dough. Take the flour of the highest grade, the egg is large. Vanillin can be replaced with 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 tsp vanilla sugar.
Step 6:
Add the sifted flour to the blender bowl, add the diced cold butter and whisk until fine crumbs. You can rub everything with your hands, but I've been using a blender for making shortbread for a long time - it's fast, convenient and my hands are clean.
Step 7:
In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, egg, sugar, salt and vanilla. Stir with a whisk until the sugar crystals dissolve.
Step 8:
Pour the egg mixture into the flour crumbs.
Step 9:
Knead a soft elastic dough. At first, the dough sticks strongly to the hands, but quickly enough it begins to lag behind both the hands and the walls of the bowl. Roll the dough into a ball.
Step 10:
Divide the dough into two equal parts.
Step 11:
Roll out each part on a floured table into an oval about 3-4 cm thick. When rolling out, it is important to make sure that the dough does not stick to the table, and for this the table must be dusted with flour.
Step 12:
Spread the nut-sugar filling over each of the ovals, retreating from the edges by 1-1.5 cm .
Step 13:
Roll each piece of dough into a tight roll along the short edge.
Step 14:
With a regular or curly knife, cut each roll diagonally. You will get beautiful blanks with carved edges.
Step 15:
Place the blanks on a baking sheet covered with oiled parchment at a distance from each other, because during the baking process the cookies will increase in size by 1.5-2 times. Bake the nut cookies in a preheated 180 ° C oven for about 10-15 minutes until light golden brown. Make sure that the bottom of the baking does not burn. Focus on your oven.
Step 16:
Cool the finished cookies slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired and serve to the table. Bon appetit!
Please note that these cookies are quite capricious in terms of baking. If it is overexposed, it will be bright and ruddy, but at the same time hard and very crumbly. Make sure that the cookies are not browned too much - it is baked quite quickly. If you want a ruddy crust on top, coat the cookies with raw yolk.
Be prepared for the fact that flour may need more or less than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
