Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 50 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare the ingredients for the puff pastry. The easiest and fastest way to make a delicious cake for tea is to use ready–made products, for example, puff pastry. But it is not difficult to cook it at home, the main thing is the desire and time. There are recipes for instant puff pastry. Pour a glass of warm water into a bowl (warmer than room temperature), add salt, sugar, beat in a chicken egg, pour in vinegar and stir until smooth.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour the sifted wheat flour into a bowl with liquid.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

You need to pour it in parts, stirring the dough with a spoon each time. When the dough becomes difficult to knead with a spoon, put it on the table and continue to knead with your hands, adding flour. Flour may need a little more or less, unlike the amount specified in the recipe, since the density of flour is different. The dough should be smooth and elastic in consistency.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Divide the dough into four parts, roll out each of them into a rectangular thin layer, lubricate with butter liberally softened at room temperature. We fold the dough layer like a book, roll it again with a rolling pin, fold it again, repeat two more times. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to cool.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Meanwhile, you can prepare the filling for the pie. Potatoes are washed, cleaned, cut into large pieces and boiled in salted water. We make mashed potatoes, let it cool down a little.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Minced meat can be used ready-made or wrapped independently from meat. Meat is better to take pork and beef in equal parts, together they perfectly harmonize, juicy pork will perfectly complement dry beef. We wash the meat and twist it into minced meat in a meat grinder.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Peel and finely chop the onion with a knife. Add it to a bowl with minced meat, add salt and ground black pepper to taste.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Fry the minced meat with onions in preheated vegetable oil for 15 minutes.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Cut the finished dough into two equal pieces, (if we use ready-made puff pastry, then there are usually two sheets in the package, for a large pie you can use both, for a small one, cut one into two parts) roll them into a rectangle. We spread mashed potatoes on one, evenly distributing it over the entire surface, but not reaching the edges of the dough.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Spread the fried minced meat on top. Cover the layer with the filling with a second layer of dough, gently pinch the edges.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. We make several punctures on top of the pie with a fork. Grease the pie with beaten egg yolk. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for about 30 minutes, until golden brown.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

We serve the cake for tea. Have a nice tea party!
