How to make diet meatballs? Minced meat is the main ingredient of meatballs. You can take any, but do not forget that the dish is dietary. Fatty pork is not an ideal choice, it is best to give preference to chicken, turkey, beef or a combination of them in different proportions.
If ready-made minced meat is used, simply transfer it to a deep bowl. When completely self-cooking, wash beef or poultry fillet, peel off the films and skin, cut into portions and pass through a meat grinder.
Zucchini should be taken in a small size so that the vegetable is juicy and without coarse, large seeds. We can replace it with ordinary squash, it won't affect the taste too much. Do not peel off the peel, just cut off the spout and stalk, wash and grate the zucchini on a coarse grater.
Put the grated mass into a deep dish, sprinkle with salt, mix and leave for 15 minutes. During this time, thanks to the salt, the zucchini will let the juice, it will need to be drained. If this is not done, the meatballs will get too much liquid, their shape may not be perfect, and the leaking liquid will spread out ugly when baking.
Add the prepared zucchini to the meat. Peel the onion, wash it and cut it into the smallest cube so that it is not felt in the finished version. If desired, you can grind it with a blender or grate it on a fine grater. Send the onion to the minced meat.
Add breadcrumbs, egg to the mass, season with salt and ground black pepper. Stir until smooth.
Turn on the oven at 200 degrees to warm up. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper or a silicone mat. With your hands soaked in water, form round meatballs and place them on a baking sheet at a distance of about 1 cm from each other. Bake the meatballs for 20 minutes. Serve hot with any side dish, sauce or salad.
Bon appetit!
