Composition / ingredients
Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Melt butter. Add 1/2 tsp salt.
Step 2:
Add 2/3 flour, about 200g.
Step 3:
Pour 1/3 cup (about 80ml) of hot water 50-60C.
Step 4:
Mix everything carefully with a whisk so that there are no lumps.
Step 5:
Pour in 5 tsp vegetable oil.
Step 6:
Add the rest of the flour (about 110g).
Step 7:
Gently knead the dough with your hand. Do not knead for a long time. If necessary, add a little flour. The dough should be soft, smooth, homogeneous, not clogged.
Step 8:
Form a bun. Brush with vegetable oil and leave at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Step 9:
Peel the apples and cut into small cubes.
Step 10:
Add pitted cherries to the apples. You can use frozen ones (in this case, they need to be thawed beforehand by pouring into a colander and letting the excess liquid drain).
Step 11:
Add ground cinnamon.
Step 12:
Add sugar, vanilla sugar and breadcrumbs to the filling.
Step 13:
Mix the filling well.
Step 14:
Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll out thinly. Lay out half of the filling, spreading it evenly over the entire surface of the dough, leaving a little space at the edges.
Step 15:
Roll the strudel into a roll, turning the dough around the edges.
Step 16:
In the same way, form a second strudel from the remaining dough and filling. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Put the strudels and brush them with vegetable oil.
Step 17:
Bake the strudel at a temperature of 200-220C for 15-20 minutes.
Step 18:
Remove the strudel from the oven, brush with butter, cover with a towel and leave to cool. Sprinkle the finished strudel with powdered sugar and garnish with mint leaves. Serve with a scoop of ice cream. Enjoy your meal!
