Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
In this recipe I want to tell you how to bake pies with potatoes from yeast dough in the oven. We will prepare all the products we need for dough and potato filling.
Step 2:
First we knead the dough, for this we sift the flour into a container, pour into it a glass of boiled, cooled water, add yeast (already activated) dissolved in a quarter of a glass of warm water, vegetable oil, salt and sugar. Mix the whole mass thoroughly and knead the dough. We make a bun out of it, put it in a bowl, sprinkle with flour, cover with a towel and put it in a warm place for about 50-60 minutes.
Step 3:
In the meantime, we are preparing the filling, for this we boil potatoes in salted water, make mashed potatoes from it. Finely chopped onion fry until soft and mix with mashed potatoes.
Step 4:
Crumble the dough that has come up and put it on the work surface.
Step 5:
Form a medium diameter tourniquet from the dough and divide it into equal pieces with a knife. From each piece we make a ball.
Step 6:
Take one ball at a time and knead it with your hands into a thin cake. In the middle we spread a tablespoon of filling and pinch the edges of the pie.
Step 7:
Spread the pies on a greased baking sheet with the seam down at a small distance from each other, cover with a kitchen towel and give 20 minutes for proofing. Grease the pies with beaten egg and send them to a preheated oven to 200 degrees for 35-40 minutes. During this time, they will rise well, become ruddy and fully prepared. We put the hot pies on a tray, cover them with a towel and let them stand for a while.
Every weekend, at my husband's request, I cook oven-baked or fried pies. The filling is very diverse and differs from case to case. It happens that I cook sweet, it happens with meat or vegetables. This weekend I finally got to the culinary recipe for pies with potatoes. I can say without exaggeration that they turned out to be excellent in taste and appetizing in appearance! I am happy to share with you the recipe of this unsweetened pastry.
