Cooking method

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Gather all the ingredients you need. Use larger eggs — ideally farm eggs, or at least large grade. They're not only bigger but have a bright orange yolk that gives the omelet a beautiful color. Before you start, check how fresh the eggs are. Put them in a container of room-temperature water. If they sink, they're fresh; if they float, it's better not to use them.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Get ready the bag you'll cook the omelet in. Ordinary small sandwich bags work. For extra strength, I used two bags, one inside the other.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Wash the eggs very well — their shells carry a lot of bacteria. Crack the eggs carefully right into the bag and pour in the milk. Note that the milk can be anything — dairy or plant-based.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Add your favorite ingredients to the bag if you like. If you prefer heartier dishes, you can add pieces of bacon, chicken, sliced mushrooms, or grated cheese. Pieces of any vegetable work too: chopped tomatoes, bell pepper, and onion. If you'd rather keep it close to a classic omelet, you can just stick with some freshly chopped herbs.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Salt the omelet mixture. At this point you can also add other dried herbs or seasonings: ground hot pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and so on.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Mix all the ingredients right with your hands, kneading the bag from the outside.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Tie the top of the bag in a tight knot.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Boil water in a pot. Put the bag straight into the boiling water and cook over low heat for about 20 minutes.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9

Carefully take out the omelet bag and let it cool a little. Then carefully cut the bag open and serve.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10

This omelet is perfect for a family breakfast — both grown-ups and kids will love it! Enjoy!
