Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare all the necessary products. Of course, it is best to cook such a dish from fresh broccoli cabbage. To do this, choose a head of a rich bright green color and sufficiently elastic to the touch. But you can also cook from frozen cabbage. to do this, it must be properly defrosted: immediately after the freezer, place the cabbage in the refrigerator for 6 hours and only then continue defrosting at room temperature. Then drain the liquid
Step 2:
Wash the cabbage very well. I recommend using a special brush and a vegetable detergent for this. Broccoli has quite small inflorescences, so a lot of dirt accumulates there, so wash it with hot water and especially carefully. Then remove the stalk and divide the cabbage into inflorescences of the desired size.
Step 3:
Prepare the bowl of the slow cooker. Pour a glass of filtered water into the bowl. Even though we are steaming, and the cabbage does not have direct contact with water, still take clean filtered or bottled water, because steam is also a state of water, and it will directly contact the cabbage.
Step 4:
On a special steaming stand, place the cabbage inflorescences at a distance from each other so that the whole cabbage is evenly cooked. Do not salt the cabbage: salt removes moisture and the cabbage will not turn out very juicy. Put the stand on the bowl of the slow cooker, and the bowl itself in the appliance. Turn On the Steaming mode. As a rule, the standard cooking time in Steam mode in the appliance is about 20 minutes.
Step 5:
If your slow cooker model allows, then reduce it to 5-7 minutes. Cabbage should remain dense and elastic, and not boil. There is much more benefit in such cabbage. Season the finished broccoli with salt and pepper, if desired, pour vegetable oil or vinegar. A delicious and healthy dish is ready. Bon appetit!
