Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 50 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make Viennese waffles? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Put the butter in the microwave and heat it to such a state that it begins to melt. Sift the flour through a sieve to saturate it with oxygen. The egg can be used in any category. Kefir take an average fat content of 1-2%.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

For the dough, choose a convenient high bowl so that when mixing the dough, splashes do not fly around. Combine the egg and sugar in a bowl.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Then add kefir and mix everything. To do this, you can use a mixer. I baked waffles without salt, just sweet, but to enhance the taste, you can add a pinch of salt at this stage and mix.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Then pour flour with soda and vanilla into the dough. First, gently mix everything with flour by hand, and then you can turn on the mixer. If you immediately turn on the mixer, the flour will start to fly around the kitchen. Therefore, it must first be immersed in the dough.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

And the last step, mix the melted butter into the dough.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

The finished dough will become homogeneous and thick. About like pancakes. Preheat a waffle iron or a multi-baker and spread the prepared dough with a spoon. Cover with a lid and cook for the required time. I cook Viennese waffles in a multi-bakery and it takes me 12-14 minutes. Depending on the quality of the coating of the panels, they may need to be lubricated with oil before the first application. Be guided by your waffle iron.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

The finished waffles should become an appetizing golden color. This amount of dough is enough for 6 wafers, i.e. for 3 baking two wafers each.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

These Viennese waffles will be a great addition to tea or coffee. They can be supplemented with berry sauce, cream, jam or topping. Or you can just sprinkle with powdered sugar. Have a nice tea party!

Important! Keep in mind that all waffle irons are different. It is possible that the plates of your appliance will need to be lightly lubricated with vegetable oil with a high smoking temperature when baking the first product, in order to avoid its sticking.
