Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
For the recipe you will need cabbage, onion, egg, flour, milk, butter (can be replaced with vegetable oil), salt.
Step 2:
Chop the cabbage in any way possible. Small or large is a matter of taste.
Step 3:
Cut the onion into half rings.
Step 4:
Put the chopped cabbage and onion in a frying pan, add a couple of teaspoons of salt and oil for frying.
Step 5:
Mix cabbage with onion and salt, fry until tender.
Step 6:
Beat the egg with salt.
Step 7:
Add milk to the beaten egg with salt. Mix it up.
Step 8:
Grind flour with softened butter.
Step 9:
Gradually pour the egg and milk into the flour and butter and knead the dough. The dough should not be sticky. If there was not enough flour, add it.
Step 10:
Roll out the dough with a thickness of 1 cm, but you can also make it thinner, like mine. Put the cooled cabbage on the rolled dough. The thickness of the dough and filling is a matter of taste.
Step 11:
Wrap the dough with the filling in the form of a roll. Bend the ends of the roll or stab with toothpicks.
Step 12:
Since the dough was rolled out thinly, I put the roll on parchment so that I could safely transfer it (I was afraid that the dough would break when carrying in my hands).
Step 13:
Prepare a slow cooker for steaming. put a roll in a steaming bowl (you can remove the parchment, or you can leave it). Turn on the slow cooker in the "steaming" mode for 40 minutes. If the roll turned out to be long, then it can be rolled up with a bagel. If there is no slow cooker, then the roll can be cooked in salted water in a saucepan (then cook for 5-10 minutes), while the roll needs to be tied into something (packed so that it does not fall apart during cooking), for example, gauze.
Step 14:
At the end of the specified time, the roll is ready. It can be poured with melted butter, you can sprinkle with herbs. I like it with fried onions.
