Regarding spices: the amount of spices can be adjusted to taste. For example, you can easily overdo it with cloves, so only one bud is indicated in the ingredients. But those who like it more fragrant can take a larger amount. The same applies to other spices. Sugar in the marinade is also a matter of taste. Some will find 100 grams not enough. Then you need to take it to taste.
1. The cabbage head is freed from the upper leaves. Shred thinly. You can cut the cabbage with a knife or use the devices designed for shredding.
2. Peel the carrots. Mine under running water. grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
3. Put the vegetables in a large bowl or saucepan. We use our hands. This is necessary in order for the carrots and cabbage to let the juice. You should not be too zealous, you need to do it carefully.
4. Peel the garlic, pass the cloves through the press. They can also be grated. Put the garlic in a bowl with the vegetables. Mix it up.
5. Pour the right amount of water into another saucepan. We send it to the fire. Bring the water to a boil. Pour vinegar, vegetable oil, sugar and salt into boiling water. Also add spices: bay leaf, peppercorns, cloves.
6. Pour cabbage with carrots with hot marinade. Cover the pan with a lid. Leave to marinate for a day at room temperature.
After the specified time, cabbage can be eaten.
