Mix salt, sugar, vegetable oil and vinegar in a bowl, add finely chopped pepper, garlic squeezed through a press.
Mix until the salt and sugar dissolve.
Cut tomatoes into slices, put them in a bowl with a lid and pour the resulting mixture.
