Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to cook uzvar from dried fruits? Prepare the necessary dried fruits. I specified the amount approximately. You can add a little more of this or that product that you like best. You can replace one ingredient with another or brew a drink not from four types of dried fruits, like mine, but from two or three.
Step 2:
Wash dried fruits well in cold water to remove dust and other impurities from them. Then pour boiling water over the dried fruits. Let them stand for a couple of minutes. Then drain the water.
Step 3:
Cut a few slices of ginger root. And take some cloves for the fragrance.
Step 4:
Put all the prepared dried fruits in a cooking pot. Add ginger and cloves. Fill the ingredients with cold water and put the pan on the fire. Bring the water to a boil and boil for about 3-5 minutes. Then remove the pan from the heat, cover with a lid and leave the uzvar to infuse for 3-4 hours. The longer it is infused, the richer and tastier the drink will turn out.
Step 5:
It will be even better if you cover the pan with a warm blanket so that its contents cool down slowly. Strain the infused uzvar through several layers of gauze to remove all small particles. After that, you can put the dried fruits back into the compote. Or add them directly to the glass before serving. To taste, add a little honey to the drink.
Step 6:
Pour the finished uzvar into a decanter and help yourself. Have a nice treat!
Properly prepared uzvar contains a large amount of vitamins and nutrients.
This drink is a powerful antioxidant, relieves inflammation in the body, tones up, increases immunity, increases hemoglobin and has a cleansing and diuretic effect.
In addition to these ingredients, dried hawthorn berries, rowan, cranberries, rosehip, cherries can be added to it. The set of spices can also be expanded. You can supplement the drink with cardamom or cinnamon.
Such a drink to replenish energy reserves. Both children and adults like it.
After straining the berries, do not throw them away. They are very tasty and are a useful fiber for the intestines. Therefore, they can be eaten. And this is another plus of the drink.
Honey is ideally used for sweetening. But it is quite possible to replace it with sugar.
But such a drink is not recommended to drink with diabetes.
For cooking, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral to taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste.
