Drinks brewed from dried fruits are distinguished by their excellent taste and great benefits. This drink is no exception. Apricots are dried small apricots with a stone. Ideal for cooking compote! The drink turns out to be cozy in winter and is considered Christmas in some countries.

The apricot compote also has a huge plus - it's extremely easy to cook it. Even a novice hostess can cope! However, it is as simple as compotes from any other dried fruits.

So, where do we start cooking? Of course, with the preparation of dried fruits themselves! We carefully sort out the apricots, removing bad fruits and small litter. Then we put the apricot in a colander and wash it thoroughly under running water. At the end, you can rinse it with a small amount of boiled water. There is no need to soak the apricot, as it will cook for a long time, so you can immediately proceed to the next stage.

Namely, pour the specified amount of water into a medium-sized saucepan and put it on a high heat, bring the liquid to a boil. When it boils, reduce the heat to medium. We put the prepared apricot in boiling water, after it we pour granulated sugar into the same place. Mix everything, reduce the heat to a minimum, cover the pan with a lid and cook the drink for 20 minutes.

A minute before the end of cooking, pour lemon juice into a saucepan with compote. It will add a pleasant sourness, a light citrus note and make the taste more balanced. Remove the compote from the fire and let it cool down to a warm state (the compote can be served both warm and cold). After that, if desired, you can strain the compote through a fine sieve (or you can use gauze) and pour it into a beautiful jug. And you can not filter, leaving the apricot in the compote. It remains to stock up on beautiful portion cups and you can taste a delicious and healthy drink.

Bon appetit!
