To begin with, we mix water, sugar and pieces of lemon zest, bring it all to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, after which we extract the lemon zest – it has already done its job – it has given its unique flavor. Put blueberries in the water and boil for another 5 minutes (wait until the berries start to burst). Remove the pan from the heat and add lemon juice. That's it! Serve blueberry compote cold or warm to your taste.
