Oatmeal Kissel for Weight Loss
A healing miracle drink for sensible weight loss. Oatmeal kissel is known for its exceptionally beneficial properties, especially for the stomach. Being simple and cheap to make, this thick, smooth drink is quite popular among those who follow a healthy lifestyle.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
To make oatmeal kissel for weight loss, choose rolled oats with the longest cooking time — they retain the most vitamins and minerals. Use clean drinking water at room temperature.
-
Step 2:
Turn the rolled oats into oat flour. To do this, put them in a blender.
-
Step 3:
Grind the oats into flour. It's fine if a few larger pieces remain — they won't affect the taste or the benefits of the kissel.
-
Step 4:
Pour the oat flour into a deep container holding at least two liters. Glass, enameled, ceramic, or stainless steel works. Don't use aluminum cookware, as it can trigger a reaction. Add a little more than half the water and stir. Cover with a towel and leave at room temperature for about 8 hours to swell. You'll use the rest of the water later, once the oat flour has steeped.
-
Step 5:
After the time is up, stir the swollen oat flour with a spoon.
-
Step 6:
For cooking the kissel, take a pot or saucepan that holds about 3 liters. Cover it with a sieve or cheesecloth and pour the mixture through it.
-
Step 7:
Squeeze well, pour the rest of the water through, and squeeze again.
-
Step 8:
You can use the leftover pulp. It's very good for you and can be added to batter for baking — pancakes, for instance.
-
Step 9:
Cook the strained liquid. Set the pot over medium heat. Stirring so the kissel doesn't stick to the bottom, bring it to a boil. Stir well and the kissel is ready. If you cook it longer, the kissel will get thicker.
- Oatmeal kissel is recommended for weight loss as an effective, gentle way to manage your weight. As a rule, it's taken in the morning — one glass of this miracle drink replaces a diet breakfast. The grain fibers swell in the stomach, keeping you feeling full for 2–3 hours. It's better not to have the kissel in the evening.
- If your diet allows, you can add honey, nuts, or dried fruit to the kissel. I like it with a little salt.
- Despite its great benefits, oatmeal kissel has a few contraindications — among them an individual intolerance or allergy to oats, gluten sensitivity, and a calcium deficiency. And of course, don't forget that everything should be in moderation.
