    Step 1.

How to cook rice porridge with water and milk? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. For porridge, choose round-grain rice. There is more starch in it and it is better boiled, so the porridge turns out to have a pleasant enveloping density. The proportions of milk and water may be different. I cook 50/50. For cooking, it is best to use a non-stick pan. Porridge will not burn to such a surface. Pour water into a saucepan and put it on the fire. Bring the water to a boil and dip the washed rice into it. Stir and bring to a boil again. Cook the rice over low heat, stirring, until it absorbs all the water. It will take 5-7 minutes.

    Step 4.

Then pour hot milk into the rice and mix. Add salt and sugar to the porridge to taste.

    Step 5.

Cook the porridge for another 10 minutes. Adjust the density to your taste by adding hot milk or water. The more liquid there is, the more liquid the porridge will be. When the rice becomes soft, remove the pan from the heat and leave the porridge to infuse under the lid for another 10-15 minutes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

After standing, the porridge will become even thicker. Even in the infused porridge, you can add hot liquid if necessary. Rice porridge is ready! Arrange it on plates, add a piece of butter and help yourself! Enjoy your meal!

For cooking, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral to taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste.

Rice, if desired, can be replaced with any other cereal. But take into account the peculiarities of cooking various cereals! The cooking time can change both in a smaller and in a larger direction. Some of the cereals require pre-soaking.
