Candies Made from Powdered Milk Formula
Delicious candies that are healthier than the store-bought kind. Candy made from baby formula sounds surprising, but it's nothing new—people were making these back in Soviet times. Simple ingredients, quick and easy prep, and a wonderful taste won them their popularity—plus, of course, the fact that they're a better-for-you alternative to factory sweets. The recipe is handy for anyone whose little ones have outgrown their formula but who still has some left over.

- Got a lot of baby formula left over and wondering what to do with it? You can turn it into a tasty treat that's far better for you than store-bought candy. Kids can have it, and grown-ups will love it too. The process couldn't be simpler—see for yourself: 1. Put the butter in a small saucepan, add the sugar, and pour in the measured milk. Set it over low heat and warm the mixture, stirring now and then, until the butter and sugar have fully melted. As soon as it comes to a boil, take it off the heat right away. Let it sit, uncovered, for 10 minutes so the mixture cools slowly. 2. Meanwhile, rinse the hazelnuts (you can use any nuts, bits of dried fruit, or skip the filling altogether) and pat them dry with a paper towel. 3. After the 10 minutes, start adding the powdered formula a little at a time, kneading well after each addition. The mixture should turn smooth and uniform, with everything well combined. 4. Now shape the candies: pinch off small pieces, roll them into balls, and tuck a nut (or your chosen filling) inside each one. Roll each candy in shredded coconut spread out on a flat plate. Arrange the candies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 2–3 hours. When the time's up, they're ready to serve with tea—and they really are delicious. Your family will love them! Here's to a warm, cozy tea time together!
