Composition / ingredients
Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients.
Step 2:
Peel the onion, cut into small cubes. Carrots are also cleaned, grated on a coarse grater.
Step 3:
Do not chop the cabbage coarsely, put it in a large saucepan (I have a 5-liter one). Pour the cabbage with water. Cook for 1 hour, salting only 10 minutes before cooking. note: Here you need to take into account that in addition to cabbage, rice and minced meat will be added to the pan, so cabbage should not completely fill the pan. You need so much water that it is on the same level with the cabbage, if you press it to the bottom. In the photo, the water is not even visible.
Step 4:
Rinse the rice and boil until almost ready.
Step 5:
Pass carrots and onions in vegetable oil until golden brown, add minced meat, stir, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper. Then add the tomato sauce, stir, cover and simmer for another 10 minutes.
Step 6:
Add rice to the cabbage, stir. Then add the minced meat, mix again, cover and cook for 10 minutes. Then add the bay leaf, add salt if necessary and cook for another 10 minutes.
Step 7:
After being ready, give the cabbage rolls 10 minutes to "rest" under the lid, then mix and you can try!)
The number of ingredients is indicated for a LARGE portion of lazy cabbage rolls - for a 5-liter saucepan.
