Step 1:
How to bake cheese tortillas in a frying pan? Prepare the specified products for the preparation of cheese tortillas. Products for cooking can be taken directly from the refrigerator. Kefir I have 3.2% fat content, cheese I took "Russian", premium flour, pre-sifted with baking powder. Prepare a non-stick frying pan for frying tortillas.
Step 2:
Pour kefir into a deep bowl, add sugar, salt and soda to it, and mix everything. You can use a whisk or a regular fork. Leave the bowl for five minutes.
Step 3:
After five minutes, add the cheese pre-grated on a coarse grater to the liquid ingredients. Mix everything evenly.
Step 4:
Add the sifted flour in parts to the bowl and mix each time.Flour may require more or less of the specified amount. It depends on the properties and quality of the flour. Therefore, when mixing, focus on the consistency of the dough. Knead a thick elastic dough and assemble it into a ball. The consistency of this dough turns out to be very soft, tender and sticky.
Step 5:
Divide the finished dough into several equal parts. Roll each part into a bun, then roll it out on a board into a flat cake. The koloboks are well rolled into tortillas with flour and without flour on the table.
Step 6:
Heat a non-stick frying pan (I don't know if they will cook in a regular frying pan, I haven't tried it) over high heat, then turn down the heat. Place the tortilla in a dry frying pan and fry on each side for five minutes with the lid closed over medium heat. The time will depend on the thickness of the products themselves, the thicker, the more time it may take to prepare them.
Step 7:
Ready-made tortillas with cheese are good both hot and warm, and cooled down. Perfect for breakfast, lunch and a casual snack.
This simple recipe will be a great solution for making a quick but delicious treat for breakfast or just for tea. It seems to be a very simple composition, but the tortillas turn out very tasty. Also, this recipe will become a base for experiments - you can add chopped fresh herbs, garlic, spices to them and you will get a completely different treat.
