Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you bake pork with mustard in foil? Gather the ingredients from the list. If needed, thaw the meat ahead of time. Choose your spice blend to taste.
-
Step 2:
Wash the pork and pat it thoroughly dry with a paper towel. Peel the garlic and cut it into long slivers. Make slits in the meat with the tip of a sharp knife and tuck the garlic into them.
-
Step 3:
Stir the mustard together with the herbs and salt, and rub it all over the pork. Let the meat sit for at least an hour — 3 to 4 hours is even better.
-
Step 4:
Wrap the meat in foil and put it in a 400°F (200°C) oven for 60 minutes. Adjust the exact time and temperature to your own oven.
-
Step 5:
After about 35–45 minutes, unwrap the meat and return it to the oven for another 10–20 minutes to brown.
-
Step 6:
If you use the convection setting, it will take less time, so keep an eye on it.
-
Step 7:
Serve the finished mustard pork sliced into portions with a sharp knife.
- Keep in mind that how well you thaw the ingredients has a lot to do with the quality and taste of the finished dish. For how to avoid mistakes and pick the best method, see the article on thawing.
