Slow-Cooker Beef Liver in Sour Cream
Cook liver in the slow cooker — it doesn't get any tastier! Beef liver braised in sour cream in a slow cooker will win over everyone at the table. It comes out incredibly tender, saturated with its own juices and aroma. This recipe doesn't go overboard on spices, so the result tastes about as natural as it gets. Add a little ground black pepper if you like, but the dish is excellent without it. The onion gives the liver remarkable juiciness, and the sour cream lends softness and tenderness. Give the liver time to soak before you start cooking.

- A lot of home cooks love making liver, and for good reason — it's the base for so many tasty dishes: braise it, fry it, boil it, turn it into liver fritters and pancakes, pâtés, and more. This recipe is all about beef liver, which is very good for you. Nutritionists recommend adding beef liver to your menu, especially for athletes, older adults, kids, and pregnant women. Beef liver is rich in protein and vitamins, amino acids and trace minerals. It supplies vitamins C, A, E, K, and D, along with the B vitamins. 1. Rinse the beef liver thoroughly under running water and remove all the membranes. 2. Put the prepared liver in a bowl, cover with cold water, and let it soak for one hour. 3. When the hour is up, drain the water and pat the liver dry with paper towels. 4. Cut the liver into small oblong pieces. 5. Pour the sunflower oil into the slow-cooker bowl and select the "Sauté/Fry" setting. After about 5 minutes, once the oil is hot, add the liver. 6. Cook the liver for 10 minutes, stirring now and then, until every piece is nicely browned. 7. Peel the onion and cut it into thin half-moons. Add it to the browned liver and stir. 8. Season with salt and stir in the sour cream. Switch to the "Stew/Braise" setting and set the timer for one hour. Close the lid. 9. Rinse the dill and chop it finely with a sharp knife. Add the dill to the liver 5 minutes before the end of cooking. When the timer beeps, the dish is ready to serve. Serve it right away or let it cool a little — it's up to you. Enjoy, and eat with pleasure!
