Cooking method
- These garlic rolls are very quick and simple to make. To start, slice the ham into thin, even slices if it isn't pre-sliced — a Börner V-slicer is ideal for this. Meanwhile, hard-boil the eggs, let them cool, then peel them and separate the whites from the yolks. Grate the whites on a coarse grater and the yolks on a fine grater into a separate bowl. Grate the processed cheese or hard cheese on a coarse grater too. Thoroughly wash, dry and finely chop the herbs. Peel the garlic cloves and press them through a garlic press, or simply chop them very finely. Then combine the grated cheese, herbs, egg whites and garlic in one bowl. Add the mayonnaise and mix everything well. Now take a slice of ham and place about a dessertspoon or tablespoon of filling on it. Roll it up and dip it in the grated yolk. To keep the rolls from falling apart, you can secure them with a toothpick. Arrange lettuce leaves on a platter, set the rolls on top, and sprinkle with herbs. This recipe is absolutely simple to make, and the result is very tasty and eye-catching.
