Cooking method

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

    The ingredients you'll need.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Cut a pocket into each chicken breast.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Tuck slices of pork belly (or ham) into the pocket.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

    Then the cheese.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Next the mushrooms, which I boiled ahead of time and lightly fried.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

    Add the tomatoes last.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

    Then close the pocket.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Now tie the stuffed breast closed with kitchen twine.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9

Do the same with the second breast, then drizzle both with soy sauce.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10

    Lightly salt the chicken.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11

Sprinkle with dried rosemary or another fragrant herb to taste.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12

Now sear the breasts in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. If you want to keep the dish lighter, you can skip this step entirely — but it's what gives you a little crust on the outside, a nice golden color, and juiciness within.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13

The oil will spatter quite a bit, so cover the pan while searing.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14

Flip and sear the other side.

  15. Step 15:

    Step 15

Now transfer the seared stuffed chicken to a baking dish and pour the released juices over it. Bake at 400–425°F (200–220°C) for 15 minutes.

  16. Step 16:

    Step 16

    The cheese-stuffed chicken is ready!

  17. Step 17:

    Step 17

    Slice and enjoy! Bon appétit!
