Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Before cooking, cut the ham and cheese into thin slices.
Step 2:
Take a chicken breast without bones and without skin. Cut it lengthwise with a sharp knife to make two parts. Put one piece between two layers of film and beat it off with a cooking hammer. Thus, beat off all the prepared pieces of chicken meat.
Step 3:
Put ham and cheese on each chipped piece.
Step 4:
Roll everything into a tight roll using a film on which the chipped meat lies.
Step 5:
Do the same with all the remaining chipped pieces.
Step 6:
Then prepare three bowls. Pour flour into one of them, breadcrumbs into the second, and break eggs into the third. Add salt and spices to the eggs and shake them a little with a whisk. Roll each chicken roll in flour, and then dip it into an egg.
Step 7:
Roll the rolls in breadcrumbs with the last step. To get a denser crust, repeat all the layers of breading again.
Step 8:
Fry the rolls over low heat, with the addition of a small amount of vegetable oil. Turn them on different sides so that they are evenly fried on all sides. Roasting will take 10-15 minutes. Serve the dish hot, topping it with fresh vegetables. Bon appetit!
According to the classic recipe, "Cordon Bleu" is prepared from veal, but it can not always be found in the store, and the prices for it are quite high. But the chicken breast is always available.
For the base of the dish, you can use chicken, turkey, pork or veal.
For a richer flavor, you can take a raw smoked ham. And use cheese that melts well and has a slightly sweet taste.
When cooking chicken meat, rolls are simply well fried on all sides. And if they are cooked on other meat, then it will be necessary to sweat them a little under the lid.
"Cordon Bleu" can be found in French and Swiss cuisine. And you can cook it not only in a frying pan, but also in the oven.
