  • Just four ingredients and a delicious breakfast is ready — let's get to it. Set a skillet over medium heat, and once it's hot, lay the bacon strips in the pan. Cook for a few minutes without moving them. Your cue to flip: tilt the pan, and when the strips start to slide, they're ready to turn. Flip the bacon and keep cooking the same way, turning from side to side until it's done. The edges will curl into pretty, appetizing crisped-up waves. Move the bacon to a flat plate and set the skillet — now full of rendered fat — back on the stove. If there's too much grease, pour off the excess (save it in the fridge for cooking other dishes). For frying the eggs you only need about a tablespoon of that rendered fat. Wash the eggs well ahead of time, pat them dry with a paper towel, and crack them one at a time into a cup. Gently break the first egg into the cup, then slowly and carefully slide it into the hot skillet so the yolk stays whole; repeat with the second. Fry the eggs to your liking — the longer they cook, the firmer the yolks. Season with salt and fragrant ground black pepper as they cook. Near the end, slip the bacon back into the pan to warm it through. Serve your eggs and bacon right away, hot off the stove and steaming. Enjoy your breakfast — and happy cooking!
