- Peel the onion and chop it finely. 2. Rinse the beef and cut it into serving pieces. 3. Heat the oil in a sauté pan, add the onion and meat, and season with salt. Cook until the meat changes color. 4. Add the flour and tomato paste, stir, and cook for a couple of minutes. 5. Pour in the water and bring to a boil, stirring. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes. 6. Turn off the heat and let it rest for another 5 minutes. Your beef in gravy is ready!
