Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
The photo shows the products that you will need to cook turkey meatballs in the oven. If you have a turkey fillet in the refrigerator, then you can wind up the stuffing yourself, so it will be even better. The recipe used ready-made turkey minced meat.
Step 2:
First of all, we will prepare fig. Rinse it several times until clean water, then boil until half-cooked. To do this, fill the cereal with cold water in a saucepan and put it on high heat. After boiling, turn down the stove and cook the rice for about 5-7 minutes, then throw the grits into a colander to get rid of excess liquid.
Step 3:
Peel the onion and carrot and rinse in clean water. Chop the onion finely, and grate the carrot on a medium-sized grater.
Step 4:
Send the chopped vegetables to the minced meat.
Step 5:
Add fig.
Step 6:
Add salt to taste, sprinkle with your favorite spices (in the recipe I used ground red pepper, a little nutmeg and suneli hops).
Step 7:
Mix everything thoroughly. Try to roll one ball, if the meatballs are formed with difficulty and fall apart, then add one chicken egg to the minced meat and mix again.
Step 8:
Roll the meatballs with your hands, about the same size. The number of balls depends on the size of the meatballs you make. I got 12 pieces the size of a fist.
Step 9:
Next comes the gravy line. Peel the garlic, remove the seeds and stalk from the bell pepper. Cut the pepper into small strips, chop the tomatoes into medium-sized cubes, and leave the garlic with whole teeth (if they are very large, then cut into 2 or 4 parts). Place the pepper evenly between the meatballs in a baking dish.
Step 10:
Do the same with garlic and chopped tomato..
Step 11:
Add a pinch of salt to the tomato sauce, if desired, you can add dry basil, dilute 100 ml. of cold water. Pour the sauce over the meatballs, cover the mold with a lid or foil and send it to the oven preheated to 180 degrees (top-bottom mode). Bake in this way for about 30 minutes, then remove the foil and leave the meatballs in the oven for another 10-15 minutes to brown. Please note that the baking time and temperature may vary, it depends on the oven.
Step 12:
Sprinkle the finished dish with fresh herbs and ground peppers if desired. You can serve it to the table!
To meatballs, you can offer potatoes in any form, boiled cereals or serve them as an independent dish.
Light vegetable salad and sliced fresh vegetables from the garden will go very well with meatballs.
Bon appetit!
