Step 1:
How to bake mackerel with lemon in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can take any mayonnaise, I have homemade. I took 2 medium-sized mackerels. If your fish is frozen, defrost it in advance. Wash and dry the greens. Wash the lemon and pour boiling water over it.
Step 2:
It's good if your fish is thawed to a light hardness - it's easier to work with it this way. Gut the mackerel, cut off its head, tail and fins. Rinse well from the black films and dry with a paper towel.
Step 3:
Cut the peeled garlic cloves, coarsely washed dill greens into petals. Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze the juice from one half. Cut the other half into thin slices. Then cut each one in half.
Step 4:
Pour squeezed lemon juice over the fish from the inside, season with salt and pepper, put garlic plates and chopped dill into the abdomen. I also had onion sprouts, I also sent them to the filling. You don't have to do that.
Step 5:
Make transverse incisions along the back of the fish to the spinal bone (without cutting it) and insert thin slices of lemon into them.
Step 6:
Place the stuffed fish on a baking sheet, on lightly oiled baking paper. Brush the fish with mayonnaise and send it to the heated oven (170-200 degrees, then after 20 minutes I usually reduce the temperature) for 30-45 minutes. Determine the exact time and temperature by your oven.
Step 7:
Mackerel with lemon in the oven is ready. You can prepare any side dish for it. The best combination is potatoes and crumbly rice (and, perhaps, just more familiar).
Step 8:
Decorate the dish at your discretion with herbs, lemon slices, tomatoes, cranberries or lingonberries. Bon appetit!

Mackerel with lemon in the oven can be baked in many ways - in foil, in a bag, with vegetables, with lemon and herbs - today I propose one of the ways - we will stuff the fish with garlic and dill greens, and decorate and lightly marinate with lemon. Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
