Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to bake tomatoes with cheese in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. It is better to take Italian cheese, which retains its shape and does not spread in different directions under the influence of high temperatures. Parmesan, non-salted mozzarella for pizza or other semi-dry cheese is ideal.
Step 2:
Wash the tomatoes, dry them and cut them into not very thick, but not quite thin circles. Take ripe tomatoes, but strong. Soft fruits do not keep their shape well, in the process of slicing and cooking they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish, and we need the circles to remain intact and preserve their original shape as much as possible. Pink tomatoes are perfect - they are sweet and fragrant.
Step 3:
Peel the garlic and finely chop it with a knife.
Step 4:
Grate parmesan or other hard semi-dry cheese on a medium grater.
Step 5:
Cover a baking sheet or baking dish with parchment and brush with olive oil. Lay the tomatoes overlap in one layer.
Step 6:
Brush tomatoes with olive oil on top, sprinkle with chopped garlic, sea salt and pepper. Since we have a classic Italian combination of tomatoes - parmesan - basil in this dish, a pinch of Italian herbs will be very useful here. Place a baking tray with tomatoes in a preheated 180 ° C oven and bake on the grill for about 10 minutes. Determine the time and temperature by your oven.
Step 7:
Then remove the tomatoes from the oven, sprinkle with grated cheese and return to the oven for another 3-5 minutes to melt the cheese.
Step 8:
Sprinkle the finished tomatoes with basil leaves and serve to the table. Bon appetit!
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
Any heat-resistant mold is suitable for this recipe. If you use a silicone mold, then you do not need to smear it with butter or margarine. But it is better to lightly lubricate metal, ceramic or glass dishes with vegetable oil so that the baking does not burn.
