Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
We will prepare everything necessary for cooking sweet potatoes. In the recipe, I used the purchased finely grated parmesan cheese and Provencal herbs from freezing. Wash the sweet potato very thoroughly with a brush or sponge to remove all the dirt, since we will not peel the peel, we will bake with it.
Step 2:
Dry the sweet potato with paper napkins and cut into long, but not very thick cubes. The tuber itself is very dense, so it is better to use a thin and sharp knife (carefully, do not get hurt!).
Step 3:
Prepare the sauce. In a deep small bowl, mix soy sauce and vegetable oil. Add a pinch of nutmeg, Italian herbs and garlic passed through a garlic press. I add another pinch of salt, despite the fact that soy sauce is salty in itself, as sweet potatoes are very sweet. Mix everything well.
Step 4:
Add the sauce to the sweet potatoes.
Step 5:
Using a spoon or with your hands, mix everything so that the soy sauce is evenly distributed over all the slices. If you mix with your hands, then I recommend using rubber disposable gloves, since if there are wounds on your hands, they can start to tingle when salty sauce gets into them.
Step 6:
Cover the baking dish with baking paper. Place the potato slices at a small distance from each other. Cover the baking sheet with foil and send the sweet potato in a preheated oven to 200 degrees for 30 minutes (top-bottom mode).
Step 7:
Remove the foil, sprinkle the sweet potato with parmesan on top and put it back in the oven for 5 minutes. If possible, change the mode to "convection" in order for the cheese and potatoes to turn brown.
Step 8:
The sweet potato is ready, you can serve! I sprinkle the finished dish with a little more cheese and herbs.
Soy sauce, parmesan and herbs will make the dish salty and spicy.
The baking time in the oven may decrease or increase slightly depending on the capabilities of your oven. After 20 minutes of baking, check the sweet potato for readiness with a toothpick, it is likely that it will be ready.
Such potatoes are very tasty both hot and cold.
Try it and you!
Bon appetit!
