Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make chicken nests? Prepare the ingredients. If necessary, defrost the minced meat in advance. Cherry tomatoes and greens thoroughly wash and dry. Remove the mozzarella from the brine and let it dry.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel the garlic. Chop the herbs and garlic finely with a sharp knife. If you don't want to mess with garlic, you can use a press for it.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Add salt and spices to the minced chicken.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Knead the minced meat well with your hands until smooth. During kneading, it will become more sticky, as it should be.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Divide the minced meat into 5 parts and form them into identical balls. To prevent the minced meat from sticking to your hands, moisten them with water.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Roll each ball in flour and blind the cutlets, making a recess in the center of each for the filling. This can be done, for example, with the bottom of a glass.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Place the nests on a parchment-lined baking sheet. If your minced meat is low-fat, you can lubricate the surface of the cutlets with vegetable oil. I didn't grease it because there was enough fat in my minced meat.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Put the chopped garlic and chopped basil on the bottom of each nest.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Put one cherry tomato on top. If desired, you can pre-coat the tomatoes with boiling water and remove the skin from them.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Place two balls of mozzarella in the remaining space of the meat nests.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Sprinkle Italian herbs and paprika on top of each cutlet.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Place the baking sheet in a preheated 180 °C oven for about 40-45 minutes. Determine the exact time and temperature of baking according to your oven.

On the second attempt, my minced chicken nests were a success. I thought about filling options for a long time and eventually settled on this Italian version. The mill bought the other day with Italian herbs turned out to be very useful.
