Step 1:
How to bake a whole pike perch in the oven? Prepare the products. It is better if the pike perch is fresh and small, then it will turn out juicier and tastier. But with frozen fish, the dish will also turn out, then defrost it beforehand. Spices can be taken according to your taste, but I would advise you not to abuse them, so as not to clog the delicate taste of white fish. Thyme is suitable both fresh and dried.
Step 2:
Gut the fish, remove the gills, fins and tail. You can cut off the head or leave it at your discretion. I prefer to serve baked fish with my head, I left it. Peel the onion and cut into half rings, lemon — circles.
Step 3:
Make transverse incisions on the carcass, season the fish with salt, pepper, sprinkle with lemon juice and oil. Put half rings of onion and lemon in the abdomen.
Step 4:
Take a large piece of parchment. Pour oil on the parchment and smear it a little in the place where the fish will lie. Put the pike perch on parchment and wrap it in an envelope, tightly twisting the edges. Instead of parchment, foil and a baking sleeve are also suitable.
Step 5:
Bake the fish in the oven at 180 degrees for half an hour. Then open the paper, add thyme, sprinkle the fish with oil again. Bake for another 10 minutes in the open so that the pike perch is browned.
Step 6:
The pike perch in the oven is completely ready! Serve it hot. Enjoy your meal!
Serve zander with herbs, you can prepare a side dish of boiled or baked potatoes, crumbly rice. In this case, I advise you to prepare a white sour cream sauce with horseradish.
