Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
To prepare puff pastry, prepare everything you need. Puff pastry can be prepared by yourself or buy ready-made in the store. And there is no difference what kind of yeast or yeast-free you will use. Remove the frozen puff pastry from the freezer in advance and defrost at room temperature. Minced meat can be used from any kind of meat. I'm going to cook pork. Onion gives the minced meat juiciness, so you can take a bigger onion
Step 2:
Peel the onion from the husk and finely chop it. Add the chopped onion to the minced meat. Separate the egg, not the white and yolk. Set aside the yolk separately to lubricate the pies. And add the protein to the bowl with the minced meat. Add a little salt and spices to taste.
Step 3:
Mix the whole mass very well. It is most convenient to do this with your hands. All ingredients should be evenly distributed among themselves.
Step 4:
Roll out the puff pastry layer a little and cut into 6 squares. Make 2-3 incisions on the corner of each square, as in the photo.
Step 5:
Put a little meat filling on the corner of the dough, where there are no cuts, and cover with the opposite part. Pinch the edges.
Step 6:
Cover the baking tray with cooking paper and put the prepared pies on it.
Step 7:
Lubricate the surface of all the pies with egg yolk. If desired, at this stage, you can sprinkle the pies with sesame seeds. Place the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 30-35 minutes. Be guided by your oven.
Step 8:
The finished pies will become an appetizing, golden color. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Cool the pies a little and help yourself.
Step 9:
Such pies can be given to children as a snack or served to the festive table as a snack. Bon appetit!
For puff pastry, you can use not only meat filling. You can make pies with cottage cheese, jam, fruit or berries. In any case, a delicious and appetizing treat will be provided to you.
