Lavash Rolls with Farmer's Cheese and Herbs - Quick and Tasty
Savory, appetizing, inexpensive, and quick! These lavash rolls with farmer's cheese and herbs are a great recipe for simple, fast roll-ups. They're perfect for a picnic, and you won't be embarrassed to put them on a holiday table either. The appetizer looks striking, but most importantly - it's delicious!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you make lavash rolls with farmer's cheese and herbs? Gather the ingredients. Use fresh, as-thin-as-possible lavash - it'll soak up the filling better. The farmer's cheese, like the sour cream, can be any fat content; just keep in mind that this will change the dish's calorie count. For herbs I chose dill, but use whatever you like. Same with the spices - any will do.
-
Step 2:
Make the filling. How do you make it? First deal with the herbs. Wash them, dry them well with paper towels, and chop them finely.
-
Step 3:
Peel the garlic cloves and run them through a press. Take a bowl and mix the sour cream, farmer's cheese, herbs, and garlic in it. If your cheese is grainy, try blitzing it with an immersion blender so the filling turns out smoother and spreads better.
-
Step 4:
Add salt and pepper and mix all the ingredients. Taste the cheese mixture and add more seasoning if needed. The filling is ready.
-
Step 5:
Cut the lavash into 4 equal pieces. The easiest way to do this is with kitchen shears.
-
Step 6:
Put 2-3 tablespoons of filling on each piece of lavash. Spread it evenly over the whole surface.
-
Step 7:
Roll the pieces of lavash into tubes. You can also skip cutting the lavash into rectangles altogether - just spread the filling over the whole sheet and roll it up.
-
Step 8:
Cut the rolls (or the whole sheet) into small pieces, 1 to 2 inches long. The appetizer is ready, but it's better to chill it a bit so the lavash soaks through. Then serve. Enjoy!
- You can replace the sour cream with plain yogurt with no additives.
- How do you choose good lavash? First, check the production date on the package. Don't buy expired bread. Fresh lavash should smell pleasant. Look it over carefully to make sure there are no spots or signs of mold.
