Baked turkey is called a classic food for Christmas. On this day, in Europe and America, herds of turkeys and turkeys are eaten, specially grown and fattened for the holiday. Turkey is a symbol of material well-being, and if it is not on the table, then next year will be hungry for the family. And for a traditional dish, there is also a traditional culinary recipe.
Gut the turkey (we save the giblets for gravy). Wash, dry with paper towels and put in a greased baking dish. Smear with butter and sprinkle with seasonings. Inside we push finely chopped onion, orange, cut in half and half chopped thyme. Bake at a temperature of 190 degrees for one hour, until the turkey is covered with a brown crust. Then cover with foil and bake for another three hours, pouring juice every half hour.
Peel the oranges, rub the zest, and disassemble the orange into slices. Fry the bacon and cut into small pieces. Mix all this with cranberries, honey and thyme. Open the turkey, spread the sauce on top and bake for another 10 minutes under foil. Then remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes, until crisp. We take it out of the oven and cover it loosely with foil. We transfer it to a dish, and save the juice from the mold for gravy.
