Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 35 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make lean cookies from oatmeal? Prepare the products. Flakes are best suited for instant cooking, they are softer and better baked. But if you have traditional ones, then take them, then the cookies will be more textured. Flour may take a little more or a little less, you will look at the state of the dough. Take liquid, natural and high-quality honey. The oil is odorless. If you don't like any spices, then exclude them.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour water and oil into a saucepan. Put honey. Heat the mixture over low heat until the honey dissolves. Add ground spices — cinnamon and nutmeg. Put the soda. Keep heating.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

With constant stirring, bring the mixture to a foam, but do not bring it to a boil. Remove from the heat.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour the honey mixture into the flakes, mix well. The heat will soften them a little. If you do not have instant flakes, then leave them to stand in this form for 10 minutes.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Add most of the flour. Add salt. Stir with a spoon. Gradually adding the remaining flour, knead the dough.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

The dough should become quite thick, it can be kneaded with your hands. But do not overdo it with flour, the dough should still remain soft.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Cover the baking sheet with baking paper or a special mat. With your hands, form cookies in the form of balls. Put them on paper and flatten them slightly on top.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Out of this number of products, I got 11 pieces of cookies.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Bake cookies in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 25 minutes. Remove the finished cookies from the oven and let cool, covering the baking sheet with a towel. Serve it with tea or compote. Bon appetit!

The cookies turned out fragrant, with bright notes of honey and cinnamon. But still, I shifted the flour a little, it turned out to be harsh.
Various dried fruits and nuts can be added to such cookies — prunes, dried apricots, dates, raisins, walnuts, peanuts, cashews, almonds. They must be crushed beforehand.
Often a mashed banana is added to such cookies, it acts as an egg, fastening all the ingredients. In this case, you can reduce the amount of flour.
