Rainbow Salad with Chips
A bright, beautiful, simple, and delicious salad! Sometimes you want to treat your family to something out of the ordinary, but a dish you don't have to fuss over for long - one you can make from ingredients you always have in the fridge. Rainbow salad is a great option for that. There are many different versions of this salad, but the one constant is that it should be made of colorful, vibrant ingredients. In summer, of course, fresh vegetables are perfect for a salad like this. You can round them out with a couple of hearty, tasty additions.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
How do you make Rainbow Salad with chips? Gather the ingredients for the salad. It's an ordinary vegetable salad of fresh vegetables with smoked sausage, cheese, and chips, just arranged beautifully on a plate so its colors and shape resemble a rainbow. But don't get too carried away trying to include every color of the rainbow - beyond just looking the part, it still needs to taste good and have ingredients that go together. Wash the vegetables thoroughly. Cut the cucumbers into thin strips.
-
Step 2:
It's better to use firm, large tomatoes, so you can also cut them into strips without losing the juice and tender flesh, and without ruining the look and shape of the salad.
-
Step 3:
You can of course use any sausage you like, but smoked sausage goes great with the other ingredients in this salad. So use smoked or semi-smoked sausage and cut it into thin strips.
-
Step 4:
You can also use any hard cheese you like - we need it for the yellow of the "rainbow." Grate the cheese, though it's no worse to cut it into strips. Arrange all the ingredients on a flat plate in triangles, alternating between them, without joining them in the middle, since there will be a flower made of chips in the center. Connect the ingredients with thin lines of mayonnaise. If you like, you can lightly salt the cut vegetables on top.
-
Step 5:
Potato chips are a perfect complement to the ingredients in this salad. If you like, you can use any flavor, enriching and varying the salad's taste. Sour-cream-and-herb chips set off the flavor of the salad and the mayonnaise dressing nicely. Plus, adding chips lets you serve the salad without bread. This salad is sure to impress with its looks and please your guests. Enjoy!
- It's better to make the mayonnaise yourself - it's tastier and better for you. See some interesting homemade mayonnaise recipes here. You can also use sour cream or plain yogurt as a dressing instead of mayonnaise. Use them on their own or mix them with mayonnaise in any ratio you like - this will cut the dish's calories.
