Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make Tula gingerbread at home? Prepare the products. First for the test. Instead of margarine, you can take butter. Choose natural honey, without additives, liquid if possible. Prepare the dough. How to make dough? Pour granulated sugar into a deep heat-resistant container, beat in chicken eggs, add soda, a little cinnamon and honey. Mix all the ingredients until smooth. It is enough to take a whisk, a mixer is not needed.
Step 2:
Then add the already softened margarine to the same container. If you have not taken it out in advance, then grate the margarine on a grater, then add it to other products. When all the ingredients are well mixed, put the container with the contents on a pot of suitable size with boiling water for 10-15 minutes. With constant stirring, boil the mixture until a homogeneous air mass.
Step 3:
Pour about a cup of flour sifted through a sieve into this mass. Mix well and cool the resulting mass. To speed up the process, you can put the container with the dough in cold water for 10 minutes, stirring it periodically. In a slightly cooled, but still warm dough, gradually add another 1.5 cups of flour sifted through a sieve. It is important to sift the flour to saturate it with oxygen. Then the baking will turn out to be airy and will rise well when baking.
Step 4:
Knead the dough first with a fork, then with your hands. Keep in mind that you may take more or less flour — focus on the dough itself and add flour in parts! The dough should keep its shape well, but at the same time be soft and elastic.
Step 5:
Sprinkle the work surface with flour so that the dough does not stick. Roll out the prepared dough into a square-shaped layer. The thickness should be about 0.5 cm. Cut the rolled layer into squares of the same size. I got 9 pieces.
Step 6:
Put the jam on the half of each square, then cover it with the other half and press the dough well around the perimeter so that the filling does not leak out. If desired, you can make gingerbread more beautiful with the help of improvised means, for example, forks or special devices for cutting dough. Choose thick, seedless jam.
Step 7:
You can also decorate the gingerbread on top with any pattern using special cuts or pieces of dough. Now put the prepared gingerbread on greased baking paper. At this time, preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Bake the gingerbread at this temperature for 10-12 minutes.
Step 8:
Prepare the glaze. How to make icing? To do this, mix granulated sugar and milk in a saucepan. Put the saucepan on medium heat, stir its contents until the sugar dissolves. Bring the mixture to a boil and boil for 5-6 minutes. Brush the freshly baked gingerbread with icing and cool. Then serve to the table. Bon appetit!
Be sure to wash the eggs before use, as even the seemingly clean shell may contain harmful bacteria. It is best to use food detergents and a brush.
Be prepared for the fact that flour may need more or less than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
