Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to bake chicken thighs in sour cream? Prepare the products. Thighs, if they are frozen, pre-defrost by transferring from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Legs are also suitable for this dish. If you prefer them, then take 6-8 pieces for this amount of ingredients. And in general, this way you can bake any part of the chicken.
Step 2:
Wash the chicken thighs and dry them with paper towels. Put them in a deep bowl. Season with salt and pepper on both sides. In addition to pepper, you can add any spices to taste.
Step 3:
Add sour cream to the chicken and mix. Choose high-quality sour cream, natural, without vegetable additives. You can use mayonnaise instead of sour cream. Or take a mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise. Just keep in mind that the calorie content of the dish will increase from this.
Step 4:
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 5:
Put the meat with sour cream in a baking dish.
Step 6:
Sprinkle the dish with grated cheese on top. Bake the chicken thighs in a preheated 180 °C oven for about 40 minutes. Be guided by your oven and by the appearance of the dish — it should be covered with a ruddy crust. If the cheese suddenly starts to blush too quickly, cover the mold with foil, and remove it 10 minutes before the end of baking. Ready-made hips are served to the table with any side dish. Bon appetit!
Note that the quality and taste of the finished dish largely depends on the proper defrosting of the ingredients. How to avoid mistakes and choose the best way, read the article about defrosting.
Any cheese is suitable for this dish — hard, semi-hard, soft, like mozzarella. The main thing is that it is tasty, high-quality, without milk fat substitutes and melts well.
