Strudel with apples and cinnamon

This is not just an apple pie, but a real culinary masterpiece! Strudel with apples and cinnamon will conquer anyone with its aroma and taste. It is not difficult to cook it, but the ingredients need to be prepared in advance. Icing is an optional condition, but it tastes better this way. Serve the strudel warm, ideally complement it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Cooking method

Cooking time: 2 hours

1. Using a food processor, mix flour, salt and sugar. Add the butter, mix lightly, then break the egg, stir a little, pour in the milk and stir thoroughly.

2. Spread the mass on a floured surface, knead the dough until it stops sticking to your hands. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

3. At this time, we prepare the filling. To do this, I wash the apples, cut out the cores. Cut the apples into small cubes and put them in a bowl. Add almond petals to them (leave a little to sprinkle the finished strudel on top), brown sugar, zest, cinnamon, half of the melted butter.

4. Turn on the oven to warm up to 190 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet - cover it with parchment, lubricate with the remaining oil.

5. We take the dough out of the refrigerator, roll it into a rectangular layer and make slits (but do not cut it completely). In the center we leave the layer without slots - we put the filling there and cover it on both sides (criss-cross) with the cut dough.

6. Beat the egg, lubricate the surface of the strudel, sprinkle with the remains of almond petals.

7. Put the baking sheet in the oven for 35 minutes (until golden brown).

8. While the strudel is baking, we prepare the glaze: in a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with maple syrup and vanilla. Add as much cream as you need for the thickness you need.

9. Let the strudel cool down a little, pour the glaze and serve it to the table.

Strudel is ready! You can enjoy!
