This salad is most often prepared with smoked sausage. However, there are recipes where sausage is replaced with meat or poultry. I don't really like salads with smoked sausage - in salads, sausage loses its individual taste and, in my opinion, it is better to eat it separately from everything, combining it with a limited set of products. For example, with bread, cheese, mashed potatoes. And, perhaps, everything. In all other cases, and especially in salads, I try to replace sausage with meat. That's what I did in this case. I replaced the sausage with beef.
Beef itself is neutral in taste and requires additional flavor accents. That's why it is so good in various salads: on the one hand, it turns out to be satisfying, and on the other, you can adjust the taste with the set of ingredients that you need for a particular dish.
Beef for salad can be boiled in slightly salted water until tender, but I like it more when the meat is baked in foil with spices. So the meat has a light smoky taste.
